Sometimes life is good to us. Some other times, it feels as if the world is caving in on us. This is the reality about the world that we live in.

When I look back into the last few years of my life, I can’t help but appreciate the fact that I couldn’t have gone through it all on my own. There have been times I felt like giving up and then somehow strength from within launches me forward again and what looked like a mountainous problem becomes surmountable.

It gives me great encouragement each time I remember the portion of scripture which says, ‘See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are every before me’ (Isaiah 49: 16, NIV) This is not just a promise but also an assurance that God has us in mind all the time.

It was the custom of the Jews to tie some things like a string or locket on their hands or necks to remind them of something they are afraid they might forget. This usually is often something very important or a reminder of someone very dear to the person. God used this custom of theirs to assure them that anywhere they are or whatever they were going through, he would always be there with them.

This promise was not made only made to the Jews in the days of Isaiah; it is also very much a promise to you and I in this present age because God is the same yesterday, today and forever.

How are the walls of your life? Are they crumbling and decaying? Cheer up my friend, God can see those walls and He is putting things in place for the rebuilding of those walls to reflect His glory in your life.  He is the Architect and Engineer of your life and He knows what repair is necessary to put the walls of your life in place.

Are you going through so much at  present, thinking  no one is there who understands or feel the pain you carry in your heart? There is someone who knows, someone who can feel your pain and can help you through that situation. He is Jehovah, the one who has promised that ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’ (Heb 13:5)

I can confirm this truth boldly because I have experienced it. I have been alone in my life without friends to talk to or share my burden with. However, God was there to talk with me. Sometimes He speaks to me through His word and sometimes I hear that still, small, voice. Other times, he sends a stranger my way, to let me know that he cares for me. Yes! I know God has me in mind always, He never forgets.

When next you feel like you are all alone, rejected by friends and family, remember that you are engrafted in the palms of His hand. It does not matter whether you missed it and everyone abandoned you, God knows you missed it too, yet it is not His desire that you perish in your sin, but in realizing that you’ve done wrong and repenting from your sin, His arms are wide open to receive you unto Himself.

God remembers you always, don’t ever forget that.
